Fessenden’s 34th Annual Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day

5/11/2012
The rain held out as grandparents and grandfriends from all over the country journeyed to campus to attend The Fessenden School’s 34th Annual Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day.

Giant colorful balloons greeted visitors as they entered the Pallotta Athletic Center, where all enjoyed a Welcome from Headmaster David Stettler, followed by stellar student musical performances and two student speakers. The celebration continued with lower and middle school boys sharing a pizza lunch with their special friends in the Crocker-Monrad Gymnasium, while the upper schools boys and their guests broke bread over a delicious family meal prepared by Fessenden’s own kitchen staff in the Sanderson Dining Hall and the Hart House living room. The afternoon included classroom visits, where students and faculty were able to proudly showcase their work to grandparents and grandfriends, before many hit the fields to participate in and/or watch the scrimmages and games of Fessy lacrosse and baseball players. The day concluded with the Upper School Spring Play, “The Wizard of Oz,” a classic production admired by all generations.

The Fessenden School would like to thank all of the Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day volunteers and faculty and staff who helped make the day so special.
