Fessenden Alums Help Nobles Win National Squash Championships

2/9/2015
It's exciting to note that some of the extraordinary squash talent that has been cultivated here at Fessenden over the past few years has come full circle to help Nobles & Greenough School at the next level.  Over this past weekend 5 members of Fessenden's past Varsity Squash teams (Will Shadek '12, Patrick McElroy 14', Varoun Gulati '12, Ryan Santoro '14 , and Oliver Constable '15) traveled to Trinity College as part of the Nobles Varsity team to compete at the Division 2 High School National Championships....and with former Bears playing prominent roles, Nobles came away with the title. Shadek (Co-Captain), McElroy, and Gulati were part of the 7 man tournament roster.  Gulati had a clutch 5 game win in the finals against Haverford to draw the match even at 3-3 and #1 McElroy took down his opponent in the deciding match to seal the victory for Nobles 4-3.

Congratulations to Nobles and it is great to see these former Bears making a big impact at the next level.

Terrific news for the Fessy squash alums. Also, Barrett T.'s (see his comment) is extremely exciting!

Great to see the Fessenden squash tradition growing. I have great memories playing as a 4' Fessy Bear against 6' high school opponents. I'm now building a community squash center in Portland, Maine. Check out the community mission that was sparked by a Fessenden passion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOM1CIunZxs Barrett Takesian '04
