Despite missing several key ninth graders, the intermediate squad achieved an excellent team win against Dexter. Henry Peschel '24 contributed a goal at the ten minute mark of the first half that rung off the bottom of the crossbar and across the goal line. Despite falling into a 1-1 tie, Fessy continued to battle the late fall cold, and William Xie '24 capitalized on a breakaway opportunity to permanently put the Bears ahead. This was a fantastic season for the intermediate squad, and the coaches are proud of and grateful for the camaraderie, hard work, and sportsmanship that was demonstrated throughout the fall!
Despite controlling the pace of play for much of the match on Tuesday afternoon, Fessy was unable to keep hold of a couple of leads against a tough Brimmer and May squad. Elliot Davis '24 had a tremendous day of play on the wing, contributing two fantastic individual efforts that ended in goals to go alongside an assist on a corner kick, which was netted on a strong mid-air strike from Henry Peschel '24.
Fessenden's offense exploded for a 6-0 win against the Hillside School at Fessy on Thursday afternoon. Leo Song '24 and Dennis Zhu '24 both netted Fessy goals to put the squad up 2-0 at the half. The Fessy offense picked up right where it left off in the second half of play. Elliot Davis '24 scored two quick goals, the first of which came off a perfect thru-ball from William Xie '24. Ayden Kim '23 contributed the fifth Fessy goal on a tremendous individual effort that found the top right corner of the net. Brian Li '24 added another beautiful strike to the top-right corner of the Hillside net off of a distant free kick. The Fessy boys seem to have found their stride, and look to carry the momentum forward next week!
The Fessy intermediate squad lost a very close match on Tuesday at Shady Hill. Despite falling short, Fessy did a wonderful job of controlling the ball and dominated play for much of the match. Keeper Justin Szto '24 kept the match close with some clutch saves. The boys return to action on Thursday at home against Hillside.
Fessy lost a close contest against Fay on Friday, despite plenty of solid play across the roster. William Xie '24 drove Fessy's offense, contributing the squad's first two goals. Nathan Byun '24 also contributed a goal after gathering a loose ball after a corner kick and delivering a pure strike into the back of the Fay goal. Elliot Davis '24 stood out on the defensive side of the field for Fessy, logging the full 60 minutes. The boys are back in action on 9/27 against Shady Hill, and will look to pick up their first win of the season.
