Grades 5-9

Boarding

For over 100 students, more than 40 residential life faculty members and their families, including our headmaster, Fessenden doesn’t just feel like home, it is home.

When boys choose to board at Fessenden, they cross cultural borders, sharing perspectives with students from across the US and around the world. They form strong, supportive bonds with residential life staff members who are available for advice and guidance, day or night—the same caring adults who serve as their teachers, coaches, mentors, and dorm parents.

Our weekend programming is unparalleled, with dozens of options every weekend (and more than 800 over a school year). Just 15 minutes from Boston and two hours from the mountains and lakes of rural New England, students can immerse themselves in both vibrant cultural offerings and unlimited opportunities to experience nature. Boston offers world-renowned museums, first-class music and theater, and celebrated historical sites. And we’re within driving distance to New Hampshire’s White Mountains, as well as Cape Cod and other beautiful beaches, where boys can ski, snowboard, camp, hike, fish, boat, and swim.

We’re a community, but we’re also a family, nurturing friendships and connections that begin at a young age and last a lifetime. From fun and challenging days, to family-centered evenings, to action-packed weekends, the Fessenden boarding experience is like no other.
