Great first game performance

There was a lot for the Bears to be proud of in this game. Though the boys came out of the bus a little slow - it took around 15 minutes to get fully dressed. Naturally, we hit the field, starting a little slow with a first offensive possession with some missed opportunities. Hillside executed a quick look off of transition to take an early lead. The boys started to heat up though, as a nice check from Saki turned the ball over and David H possessed the ball in transition. Hillside took a 3 min locked-in penalty on a high hit and we capitalized heavily taking a 3-1 lead. After the first quarter it was 5-4 good guys from there the whole team started to mesh well together. Strong shots and even some finesse from the Moore boys had us up 10-3 after 3. Jake K stayed strong at the face-off X going 21/24. After a late BTB from Gabe Moore, the team was able to sub in different guys and make sure everyone had a chance to play. Ryan H made save after save making sure the defense only let 2 goals in the second half. In the final minutes, Saki barely missed a shot after a clear and almost ripped top corner. In the future he will drive closer to the cage and make sure we have a back-up before uncorking his shot. The boys wrapped up the game, winning 15-5. All around a good showing from the Bears.
