Varsity Basketball Secures a Victory Over Milton In First Game of the Season

The 2022-23 Varsity Basketball team traveled to Milton on Wednesday for their first regular season game of the year. Fessy got off to a slow start from the field against a big Milton front line and trailed in the game until a long three at the half time buzzer by Justin U. put the Bears up by three 25-22 at intermission. Coming out of the break though, Fessy found their stride both defensively and at the offensive end and were able to open up a 25 point lead mid way through the second half. From there the bench was able to close out the remainder of the game.  After a slow first half....co-captain Alex E. had a stellar performance in the second half finishing with a career high 36 points (including five 3 pointers) , 7 rebounds and 6 steals.  Justin U. was outstanding running the point in his first Fessy contest and was a defensive force throughout the game....he finished with 18 points, 9 steals, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Kayden H. was also dominant on the defensive end and controlled the glass at both ends of the floor...he finished with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals.

The Bears will enjoy a long holiday break and return in January for a tough neutral site game versus Cardigan Mt. at Groton on Friday Jan 6.
