Varsity Basketball Takes Down Rival Eaglebrook

The Varsity Basketball team traveled to Cushing Academy on Friday for their annual neutral site game versus rival Eaglebrook.  This was a hard fought battle by two evenly matched teams.  The Bears were able to break open a tight physical game to take a 10 point halftime lead.  The second half featured tough defense and up and down the floor play by both teams…..Fessy was able to open up a 15 point lead midway through the second half, but Eaglebrook fought back to cut it to 8 with five minutes to go in the game.  Eaglebrook attempted to foul down the stretch to put Fessy at the line but Alex E hit 4 of 5 free throws in the final minute to put the game away by the final score of 59-48. Alex led the way at both ends of the floor with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 assists. Justin U. followed suit with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Kayden H. was a force on defense, while contributing 10 points, 5 steals and 8 rebounds. Borja H. played solid defense as well and chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds.

The Bears will travel to Brooks next Tuesday before taking on a varsity HS team from Roxbury Prep on Thursday at home.
