Ki serves as the Director of Institutional Advancement, which is an executive administrative leadership position at Fessenden. She holds a B.A. from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. in Strategy and Non-Profit Management from Boston University. Ki comes to Fessenden from Buckingham Browne & Nichols School, where she served as their Director of Development for three years. Her other independent school development experience includes serving as the Director of Development at Kingsley Montessori School for two years and as the Director of Graduate and Planned Giving for the Noble and Greenough School for four years. In addition to Ki’s work with schools, she led fundraising and communications efforts at various social service organizations and held marketing positions at Scholastic and Kaplan. One might wonder how to pronounce "Ki," and while you have a 50-50 chance, it's actually pronounced, "Key."
Alex Ablon assumes the role of director of annual and capital programs within the Office of Advancement. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College. Alex comes to Fessenden from Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School where she was director of The BB&N Fund for more than two years. Prior to BB&N, she was employed as director of annual giving at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and at Mazza and Riley in Wellesley, MA, where she served as director of research. Alex has also volunteered in fundraising at The Carroll School, Beaver Country Day School, BB&N, and Harvard.
In her role as the Advancement Operations Manager, Dori is responsible for database integrity and conducts research for the school. Prior to coming to Fessenden, Dori served for four years as the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations at Shore Country Day School and previous to that held development positions at Salem State College and Bradford College. She earned a B.A. in English from Wheaton College.
Myrhia comes to Fessenden from Nashoba Brooks School where she was Director of Alumni and Parent Relations. Previously, she was a part of development teams at Georgetown University, Dana Hall, and Franklin & Marshall, her alma mater. An alumna of The Rivers School and Newton native, Myrhia spent lots of time playing hockey at Fessenden’s ice rink growing up. She looks forward to getting to know our many loyal alumni.
Abby attended Beaver Country Day School and graduated from Proctor Academy so she is no stranger to independent schools. Professionally, she brings over a decade of fundraising experience, mostly at Dana Farber where she played an integral role in their $1.1 billion campaign. Abby graduated from Dickinson College and currently lives in Newton with her husband and two sons, Will and Jack.
Sarah joins the Fessenden community having held administrative positions at the American Academy in Casablanca, Morocco and the North End Music and Performing Arts Center most recently. In addition, she has been a substitute teacher at Archbishop Williams School in Braintree, MA since graduating from Dean College in 2013. She is also an active volunteer for the Red Sox/Bruins Foundation raising thousands of dollars for the foundation.
As Directory of Community Engagement, Deb is the primary liaison between the School and the parent body, especially the Parents' Association. She is also responsible for nearly all school events in an effort to build and maintain the sense of community at Fessnden. Her prior experience includes over two years as Development Associate and Patient Services Coordinator with The Ellie Fund, a non-profit organization providing funding and services to patients receiving treatment for breast cancer. Deb also served as a Project Leader with Good Deeds, LLC, a start-up life management company. Possessing a wonderful creative instinct, she also owns her own company designing and selling hand-made jewelry pieces to boutiques throughout the New England and New York area.
Suzanne has over 20 years experience successfully driving the strategy, marketing, and business development efforts of a variety of professional services firms. In her most recent role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Work Systems Affiliates, a leading management consulting firm, she helped the organization achieve double-digit growth for each of the past 10 years. She is highly skilled at using traditional and emerging marketing technologies and best practices to achieve breakthrough results. Suzanne is a Boston native but has lived, studied and worked in Spain, France and England. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she majored in Spanish and earned her M.B.A. at Cranfield School of Management in England.
As the Director of Communications, Jessica is responsible for developing and implementing Fessenden’s communications strategy and serves as a key member of the advancement team. Jessica is also a dorm head at Groton School, where she lives with her husband. Most recently, she served as the Communications Manager for the Autism Science Foundation, and previously she held various communications positions at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. Jessica earned her BA with High Honors from Wesleyan University.
