Fessenden Announces Next Head of Middle School

4/15/2022
A Message From Head of School Steve Armstrong

I am pleased to share the news of an administrative appointment at Fessenden. Brandon Odom will become Fessenden’s Head of Middle School beginning July 1, 2022.

Brandon comes to us from Thayer Academy, his alma mater, where he currently serves as the Upper School Assistant Dean of Students and Associate Director of Admissions. In these roles, he collaborates with the senior leadership team to provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for the school. Brandon has also developed a strong partnership between Thayer students, parents, and faculty and staff with the goal of cultivating an inclusive community. In addition, he is the Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach and an Anti-Racism Instructor. Prior, he taught middle school history at Thayer and worked as the Interim Executive Director of Project RISE (Respect, Integrity, Success through Education). Brandon holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Secondary Education from Boston College. He is fully committed to student success, as great teaching and positive mentorship had a pivotal impact on his own life and character development. Brandon shares, “I’m thrilled to join the Fessenden community. The opportunity to serve in this role is truly an honor, and one that brings me much joy. I look forward to getting to know the students, families, faculty and staff.”

As our current Head of Middle School Sean Guthrie transitions into the role of Assistant Head of School this summer, we are grateful for the important work he has done in that division over the past three years. We are fortunate to have Brandon, a talented and experienced educator, joining the community to lead the Middle School next year. Please join me in welcoming Brandon to Fessenden.

Sincerely,

Steve Armstrong
Head of School
