Varsity Basketball Completes Their Magical Season With a 1st Place Finish at the Future Stars Tournament

The Varsity Basketball Team traveled to Suffield Academy on Sunday to participate in the prestigious Future Stars Tournament bringing together a number of top Jr Prep teams along with some talented AAU and Boys Club all stars from NYC. The Bears had to play 4 games on their way to the title. They dominated their first 3 opponents (Cardigan Mt., Indian Mt, and the Boys Club AllStars by 20 or more points in each game. Leading up to the championship game versus rival Rectory. After a slow start the Bears took control and built a 13 point lead at the half, and came out of the intermission increasing the lead to 20 midway through the second half. but Rectory cut the lead to 12 on a series of 3 pointers, before Fessy sealed the victory at the free throw line by the final score of 64-50. Alex E, Kayden H., Borja H and Justin U. played the whole game and carried the team on their backs at both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. The victory capped off a perfect 19-0 record in Coach Sanderson's 35th and final season coaching this team. It was a magical season and an incredible group of players who came together to accomplish this amazing feat.
