Notre Dame Defensive Lineman Scott Kingsley ’10 Returns to Fessy

9/26/2014
Last week, alumnus Scott Kingsley ’10 returned to The Fessenden School to speak to young football players about teamwork, leadership, and how to lay the foundation for a successful future, both on and off the field. Kingsley, who is a defensive lineman for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, attended Fessenden in Middle School and played Cub Football before going on to star at St. Sebastian’s.

During a bye week for the Irish, Scott spoke to young Fessy students about the impact a Fessenden education had on him. “Playing football at Notre Dame is a feat which I would not have been able to achieve without the help and guidance I received on and off the field at Fessenden,” he remarked. “Fessenden is truly a great place that is educating the leaders of tomorrow and I am blessed to have been, and still be, a part of such a special family.”

Scott was coached and mentored by English Teacher John Farnsworth, who was thrilled to see his former student and athlete. “It was remarkable to hear how well he remembered everything. Scott's words to our team were inspiring to say the least,” remarked John. “He chose to discuss the ethics and values Fessenden instilled in him. His graciousness and appreciation for his Fessenden peers and former teachers were abundant. We were very lucky and proud to have him join us.”
