The Athletic Trainer is a skilled, compassionate, and proactive health professional who supports boys in Grades 5–9 through comprehensive athletic health care and performance oversight. This individual plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of student-athletes while helping to cultivate resilience, accountability, and healthy habits.
The Athletic Trainer leads and manages the School’s athletic training program, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, return-to-play protocols, and health education. Working closely with the Director of Athletics, coaches, the Health Center, families, and outside medical professionals, the Athletic Trainer ensures that athletic participation aligns with best practices in sports medicine and the School’s core values of honesty, compassion, and respect.

The Rink Operator is a part-time, seasonal position. This position includes nights and weekends during hockey season from August to April. The Ice Rink Operator oversees the day-to-day operations of the ice arena, which include cleaning and driving the Zamboni Ice Resurfacer. The Fessenden School seeks a full-time Reading Specialist and Skills Center Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This role combines individualized reading remediation with classroom-based support for boys in Grades K–9. The Fessenden School is looking for a long-term substitute Lower School Librarian for Pre-K-Grade 4 for the end of this school year and the start of the next school year.
The Lower School Librarian is an energetic educator, collaborator, and connector who works closely with faculty and students to cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences. Candidates must have the ability to design, implement, and adjust curriculum for 13 classes per week for students in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Four, based on student needs and library goals. Grounded in the developmental needs of elementary students, the Librarian communicates with young people in a way that respects their humanity while exciting their curiosity about the world. The Librarian also communicates Lower School student progress to faculty and parents informally, and formally through checklists and comments.
Attention to detail, the ability to maintain a vibrant, child-friendly space, and willingness to assist and support all Fessenden students, colleagues, and other librarians are also key. The Lower School Librarian brings joy, humor, and strong relationships to their work and plays a vital role in advancing the school’s mission to develop each boy’s character, mind, and body in a joyful and inclusive community. The Fessenden Children’s Center is looking for a Teacher to join our team on a full-time basis, 40 hours a week for the full year. The work shift will be scheduled between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm. Teachers plan and implement daily activities that assist the children with mastery of age-appropriate developmental milestones. A teacher must have great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach effectively include knowledge of best practices and developmental milestones, as well as the ability to engage children and earn their love and trust. Substitute Teachers for the Lower School (Grades Pre-K to 4) have had experience in the classroom, understanding how to manage a classroom and to teach from lesson plans in order to provide continuity of instruction for the students. Substitute Teachers play an important role as the expectation is active and engaged teaching in a setting where students will continue to learn in the absence of their teacher.
