Why put a halt to an afternoon of fun when it’s just begun? Our Lower School Extended Day Program (EDP) is a rich and engaging experience for students and a supportive tool for parents. Students rave about the variety of activities led by our experienced staff, and the extended hours help parents manage busy schedules.
Pre-K/K
Each afternoon spent in the Pre-K/K EDP differs from the day before. With ample gym and playtime, and uniquely crafted activities, our young boys look forward to time spent with their friends and the EDP staff. Programming is structured to accommodate various energy levels.
A free and active 20-minute play session at the start of EDP helps the group transition from school to a less structured period. Boys play, socialize, and replenish with a healthy snack before moving on to the day’s activity. Boys can choose from several options each day, and options change every eight weeks. A sample week might include everything from construction activities with K’Nex and Legos, to cooking projects, science projects, and treasure hunts.
Grades 1-4
Offerings are organized into eight-week increments, and boys pick one “club” for each day. We start the daily program with outdoor playtime (weather permitting) to release energy and soak in the fresh air. After socializing and snacking, the group divides up for their chosen activity. Choices include everything from cooking, to sports, to art projects, to chess, to music, to ping pong, to science “magic.”
